SHANE HURLBUT, ASC is an accomplished cinematographer who graduated from Emerson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Film. The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) nominated Hurlbut’s first feature for Best Picture in the category of Motion Picture, Miniseries or Pilot Television. Currently, Shane is shooting an untitled Navy SEAL feature directed by Scotty Waugh and Mike McCoy for Bandito Brothers, Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers. This highly anticipated footage details the covert operations performed by the US Elite Navy SEALS.
Hurlbut’s versatility and expertise affords him the opportunity to work within any production budget. In addition, he has designed a workflow with his Elite Team which reduces production’s financial and eco-footprint, making it more efficient to accomplish the same number of set-ups as big budget projects. Shane and his Elite Team have shot a total of 14 films in a variety of genres, always maintaining the highest standards.
Shane balances shooting features with commercial work, using his diverse skill set to maximize short form campaigns. His credit list includes: Visa, Coca-Cola, Verizon, American Express, US Navy, Discovery, Big Love, and Deadwood. He has also worked with music legends The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, and Smashing Pumpkins.
When not on a set, Shane puts his athletic background as the number one goal- keeper for NJCAA college soccer in New York State to great use coaching his kids’ soccer teams. He is also dedicated to mentoring aspiring filmmakers.
